This video was posted this week by the owner of Buddy Media a dot.com celebrating the recent sale of his company two hours previously.
What is interesting is it's not a self congratulatory video.
The CEO, Mike Lazerow, has a heart defect that nearly killed him, twice, before the age of 20. He was expected to not make it the 2nd time. But he did and went on to launch 4 companies. Buddy Media has just been sold to Salesforce.com for over $650 million. The question he has for you is 'Is fear holding you back?'
What can you be doing to eliminate fear and follow your dreams - be they inside a corporation or branching out on your own?
1. Get a very clear and inspiring why. Having something that you are truly passionate about and excited will help you get through tougher times and remain focused on a bigger goal.
2. Be consistent. Ensure that the majority of your activity AND productivity takes you closer to that goal. Then the harder work or the actions that you might be fearful of appear less daunting.
3. Get support. Don't try to do it all alone. Surround yourself with like minded people who share your passions. Find others ways to get things done that you are not good at. Focus on what you are uniquely good at and let others do what they are best at too.
Paul,
Great advice! We often forget to get support and that can be a cause of failure.

What's holding you back may mean who/what is your inspirations in being yourself alive. Family for me is what matters the most.
